Welcome to Actor Select! (0.7.0)

This is a brand-new platform where you can hang out, roleplay, roll dice, and create your own spaces with friends, a mix between roleplay elements and a social playground to meet new people!

Create your own Actor or use our official ones! It's as easy as jumping in and enjoying a live chat with avatar expressions, custom backgrounds, dice rolls, effects and a myriad of backgrounds to choose from... all of this in customizable rooms YOU can create!

What You Can Do Right Now

• Bring characters to life. Use avatars and emotes to express yourself and react in the moment. You're no longer limited by text! And of course, no need to download any of the characters to use them!
• A built-in Actor Creator. Want to make your own character? We've included a tool for you to easily make them on the fly!
• Create your own rooms. Choose backgrounds (cafés, rooftops, school halls, or custom ones) and set the stage for any story or just as ambience for your own chats. You can moderate your own rooms as well and save their config for the next time you open them!
• A Side Chat for Side Talk. Keep the main room for the scene, and share images, links and OOC talk in the side chat if you're in the middle of a roleplay.
• Roll the dice. Perfect for tabletop or roleplay, with modifiers and multiple dice types. This is something that will evolve a lot in the future, so it's currently with basic functionality!
• Animate your Actor. Move yourself across the screen, dance, group up with friends on screen or trigger effects to make the room feel alive!
• Shape the Future of the Platform. You can help us a lot by providing your feedback and we'll do our best to make it more appealing to as many users as we can! Your voice counts and any support is immensely appreciated!

Why We’re Developing This

Actor Select is meant to be a home for people who want to roleplay, tell stories, or just make new friends. We want it to feel welcoming, flexible, and fun — like your favorite online hangout spot.
There's a lot of story behind its development and how it began and is thanks to a lot of people that have been helping us along the year.
We're striving to make it a special place for any of you that may like the concept or would want to use it to hang around and socialize whenever you feel bored. That's why we'll include minigames and other things in the future to keep it fresh and unique as we go on!

What’s Next?

• ✨ Version 0.8.0 will bring new roleplay tools, the Roleplay Mode with tons of features for Game Masters, more dice options, and utilities to help you tell stories. It will also include a Lobby for the Title Screen (which won't be a placeholder anymore) and a remake for the main chatroom buttons.
• 👥 We’re also planning a friend list, better moderation tools, and deeper avatar customization with an upgraded Actor Creator.
• 🎮 Once Version 1.0.0 is out, we'll include Minigames to the platform. That's right! Simple card games, chess, three-in-a-row or connect-4 are all minigames we're planning to add once the foundation for the platform is ready and set!

A Quick Heads Up

This is an open beta, so you might run into bugs or missing features (like music, lobby and RP mechanics). That’s normal at this stage and we'll be making changes and adding fixes as we go on. Please remember leaving feedback whenever is possible or even your suggestions.💜
